Welcome to IdeaBadger
IdeaBadger is an idea management tool for solo founders and indie hackers to decide what's worth building. Instead of letting business ideas pile up in scattered notes or getting stuck in analysis paralysis, IdeaBadger helps you capture, score, and compare your ideas systematically.
Creating your first idea
- Click the + button in the navigation bar
- Give your idea a descriptive title
- Add a one-liner that captures the essence (140 characters max)
- Score your idea using the three sliders (more on this below)
- Click Save
The three scores
Every idea gets scored on three dimensions:
- Joy - How excited are you to work on this?
- Ease - How straightforward is it to build?
- Opportunity - How big is the potential market or impact?
Each dimension is scored from 1 to 5. IdeaBadger combines these into a single display score that helps you compare ideas at a glance.
Organising your ideas
As your ideas develop, move them through statuses:
- Spark - A new idea, fresh off the brain
- Shaping - You're researching and refining it
- Building - You've committed and started work
- Released - It's out in the world
You can also archive ideas you've decided not to pursue. Archived ideas stay in your account but are hidden from the main view.
What's next?
Once you've captured a few ideas, use the sorting and filtering options to find your highest-scoring opportunities. The best ideas aren't always the most exciting - they're the ones that balance joy, ease, and opportunity.
